In the name of God, Amen  I John Mann of Wake County and province of North Carolina being in perfect health and of sound and disposing Memory (Thanks be given to God for the same) do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner & form as followeth Imprimis I give and bequeath to my Son Arnold Mann a piece of Land, the line to begin at a Branch where my line crosses the said Branch between my House and […] thence down the said Branch to the [Newlight] Creek thence down the creek to the first Branch that comes into the Creek on the East side, thence to the head of said Branch […] an East Course to the lower line, thence north to a White Oak in Richard Baileys Cornfield a corner Tree, thence west to the first Station, and if my said Son Arnold should think the said Land not enough to make his part of my Estate equal with the parts of the other Children, then I desire the said Land may be Valued Exclusive of all Improvements he hath made thereon, and if it should appear to be less in value than their equal parts, then I desire that his part of my Estate may be made equal to the parts of the other Children.  The Rest and Residue of my Estate be it of what kind or Quality soever it may I lend unto my wife Elizabeth during the time of her life and after her decease to be Sold to the best Advantage giving a Suitable time of [Credit?] for the same and the money arising from such Sale to be equally divided between my Children Judy, Betty, Avy, Anne, Fanny, John, Zacheus, David, Peter, Joseph, Agness, and Nancy. My will & desire that if any of my Children should alter their State of Life and go to House keeping my wife may be quite at Liberty to help them to such things as she sees convenient to share, provided the same do not exceed their equal part. Lastly I nominate and appoint my Son in Law John Bradford Principal Executor and my Son Joseph Mann to Execute this my last Will & Testament hereby Revoking all former Wills by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this Second day of June in the Year of our Lord 1785 Signed Sealed & delivered Published and declared in the Presence of Us
