He was born Oct. 5, 1726, and married Mary Weaver of England. Issue, four children:

2 Gen. James (D. S.), m. Susan Hatcher in 1817, in Georgia.
3 David, m. Miss Smith. They lived in Coweta County, Ga.
4 Elizabeth, m. 1st, Mr. Patterson, who was killed by the fall of a tree, in Jefferson county, Ky. 1785 or '86. Issue, two daughters; one m, Mr. Eleazur Early, and the other m, Mr. Daniel Sturges, both of Georgia. Mrs. Patterson m. 2d time, Mr. Carson, who died in Shelby county, Ky., in 1801. Issue, one daughter, Elizabeth who m. Mr. Abercrombie of Georgia."
