"In 1791, Colonel William Tunstall resigned his offices in Pittsylvania and Henry Counties and moved to Bertie County, N.C. The exact date of his death is not known, but he was a plaintiff or defendant in several suits in Henry County, and at the April Session 1793, three of them were abated by the death of Col. William Tunstall. (Minutes 6, pp. 21-87)."
