GenTrekker's genealogist is John Dickinson.
John received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from the University of West Florida in 1981. He received his Juris Doctor from Oral Roberts University in 1984. Before founding GenTrekker in 2014, he served twenty-nine years as an Assistant State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit of the State of Florida. With an life-long passion for genealogy, his experience brings a unique skill set to his craft.
John is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the National Genealogical Association, the Foundation for Medieval Genealogy, the West Florida Genealogy Society, and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. John is currently seeking certification through the Board for Certification of Genealogists.
John's expertise extends to southeastern genealogy, particularly in Georgia, Alabama and Florida. He is a Civil War buff and an avid student of Native American and medieval history.
John is married to his high school sweetheart, Judy, and they have three children, four grandchildren and one Beagle, Baxter Edison.
