Trammell, William T

The State of Alabama, Chambers County

On the 22nd day of April 1863, before the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace, in and for said county and State, personally appear William Pierson, and made oath that William T. Trammell is the only child of Columbus M. Trammell, decesased, late Captian of Company (H) 10th Regiment of Texas Cavalry (dismounted) and that said deceased died leaving no wife and that said child is a minor of six years of age, and therefore the said William T is entitled to all arrears of pay due to deceased soldiers, that may be found due to said deceased from the Confederate State. And at the same time also appeared [F. ?] Trammell, who is know to me, and whom I certify to be a person of credibility and veracity, and made oath as aforesaid that he knew the said deceased and knew and know the said William T. Trammell, the minor child of said deceased and that the facts as sworn to by him the saie Wm. Pierson are true, and that he is disinterested therein.

I, John Appleby, Judge of Probate, in and for said county, do hereby certify that James E. Scarborough before whom the above affidavit was made, is now and was at the date thereof an acting Justice of the Peace for said county […]

And I further certify that William Peirson is the guardian, regularly appointed by the Courts, of the said William T. Trammell.

Given under my and the seal of said Court at [office?] on this the 22nd day of April 1863.
