      TUSCALOOSA | David Morgan Tunstall, age 51, of 3806 Oak Colony Drive, Tuscaloosa, died Wednesday. January 5, 2005, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Charles Durham officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

      He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Morgan Tunstall.

      He is survived by a son, David Parker Tunstall of Toney, Ala.; his mother, Virginia Parker Tunstall of Tuscaloosa; a brother, Brian Parker Tunstall (Inia) of Annandale, Va.; aunts, Beatrice Dyer and Annette Day of Tuscaloosa; Louise Edgerley of Lakewood, Calif., and Marjorie Vetesk (Dan) of Northport. He is also survived by loving cousins.

      David was born February 10, 1953 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1971 and received a BS cum laude in Commerce and Business Administration in 1975 and earned at JD degree from the University of Alabama Law School in 1978. He was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, the National Accounting Fraternity; Beta Gamma Sigma; International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi; and the University of Alabama Commerce Executive Society. He pursued further legal studies at the University of Exeter in England. He earned his CPA and practiced accounting for a number of years in Atlanta, Ga., and at Morrison and Smith, CPAs, and Parker Towing in Tuscaloosa. He was a partner in the CPA firm of Mitchem, Tunstall and Whisenant.

      His civic work included the Noon Rotary Club, Treasurer and Board Member of Child Abuse Prevention Services, Alabama State Bar member, and member of AICPA. He was active in his church as a member of the Stewardship and Finance Committees.

      David was a loving son, father and nephew. He was especially interested in automobiles. He loved to read, to fly a plane and loved music.

      The family greatly appreciates the loving and devoted care given by his nurse and friend, Gwen Lollar, and expresses special appreciation to Aunt Marjorie for her loving support during David's treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Clinic in Houston, Texas. The family is also grateful to Parker's mother, Teresa, for her support during this difficult time.

      Pallbearers will be Mark Hinton, John Huthnance, Michael Jordan, Mike Mitchem, Larry O'Neal, Claude Shelby, George Wakefield, and Scott Whisenant.

      Honorary pallbearers are John Davidson, Bill Goode, Michel Burleson, Bob Huthnance, Employees of Mitchem, Tunstall, and Whisenant, The Lee Class and Care Team of First United Methodist Church, Pat Parten, Jack Marshall, Phillip Marshall, Toby Wilson, Chris Hayslip, Dan Livingston, Rick Price, Dudley and Kelly Whitson, Matt Ray, Malcolm Macomb, Dr. and Mrs. E.C. Brock, Jr., and special friend, Robyn Daniels.

      In lieu of flowers, contributions will be gratefully accepted by the American Cancer Society.
