    • OBITUARY

Mr. Farr H. Trammell was born in Walton county, Ga., Oct. 7th, 1825, and died Nov. 5th, 1895, aged 70 years and 28 days. He moved to this county with his parents in the fall of 1832. This date shows that they were among the first settlers of this country. He joined the church in August, 1854, from which date he lived a consistent member, until it seemed proper in the sight of Him who doeth all things well, to send that blessed applaud 'well done thou good and faithful servant, thou hast lived thy three score years and ten, the time allotted for man.' "He was married to Virginia L. Stillwell December 9th, 1855. To speak of him as a husband he was almost unsurpassible, being ever ready to supply his companion's wants, it was not known to him for his wife to desire a necessity and not receive it. "He was the father of six chidlren, five of whom are living. Again this is a place where his industrious hands will be missed, for an idlesome moment was not known to him. As a father he was kind and gentle, loving and lovable at all times, working for their welfare, giving them good advice, and was very cautious in pointing them to that book in which they could find the path that will lead them to the unspeakable joys beyond the stars. May they strive to emulate his loving dispostiion and spotless character, and revere his memory and regard him ever as a guardian angel beckoning them to nobler and loftier deeds. He has two brothers in this country and two in Texas. He was one of the county's best citizens, was known throughout the county as "Uncle Farr," loved and honored by all who knew him, because he ever exhibited a dispostion full of sunshine and always manifested a loving sympathy and warm-hearted friendship towards all with whom he came in contact, and ever advising them to live a life of peerless beauty. "On the 13th of October he was thrown from his buggy and received the wounds which caused his death. During the three weeks of his affliction, his suffering was intense, although he bore it with patience, and clearly expressed himself willing to submit to Him who gave his life; by saying, 'All is well, heaven is my home.' Then he began to sing 'The unclouded day.' He was interred in the Fredonia cemetery.
