      THOMAS-Reverend Jack Irvin Thomas, The Reverend Jack Irvin Thomas, beloved husband, father and Presbyterian pastor, died August 18 at the age of 85. He lived to celebrate the 60th anniversary of his marriage to his wife, Evelyn, and the 60th anniversary of his ordination. Born February 11, 1919, in Atlanta, Georgia. B.A., UCLA, 1941; M.Div., San Francisco Theological Seminary, 1944. Pastor in Esparto and Healdsburg, California. In 1953, Jack became one of the first ordained ministers to specialize in Christian Education, at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, L.A. (1953-1958), St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Redondo Beach (1958-1964) and First Presbyterian Church, Ithaca, NY (1964-1973). Associate Pastor of Adult Education at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Newport Beach (1973-1982). In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Bob (and wife Nikki), Ken (Sharon), Rebecca Combs (Randy), and Dan (Gina); nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also survived by his brother, William, of Arcadia, and several nephews. A service witnessing to the resurrection and celebrating Jack's life will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2004, at 10:00 A.M. at Pasadena Pre sbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Monte Vista Grove Quality of Life fund (2889 San Pasqual St., Pasadena, 91107) or the Pasadena Presbyterian Church (585 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, 91101) Share the Vision campaign.
