    • This is surmised from the subsequent locations of other family members. Son, David, was married in Fayette County in 1833 and granddaughter Martha was born there in 1839.

      Fayette County was formed in 1821 after the first Treaty of Indian Springs. At that time, Billy McIntosh, a Lower Creek chieftain and cousin of Georgia Governor, George Troup, ceded all Creek lands east of the Flint River. McIntosh was assassinated when he ceded the remaining Creek lands in Georgia in 1825. The treaty was renegotiated in Washington in 1826.
